Death from Above 1979 is equal to a high dose of rock n’ roll and they’ve resurrected so watch out !
Death from Above 1979 is a Canadian duo composed by Sebastien Grainger & Jesse F. Keeler. After releasing “You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine” and touring they decided to split paths in 2006 because of creative and musical differences. Sebastien went on with other rock bands while Jesse created MSTRKRFT with Al-P.
But what looked like the end was just a long pause because in 2011 they announced that Death from Above 1979 was reformed! And now is the moment because they’ve just released their new album called “The Physical World”.
This new CD doesn’t sound exactly like their past work, it’s an evolution and it’s bloody good! With all the electronic music around it’s extremely refreshing to have new releases with the good old instruments. In this case DFA 1979 proves that just with a bass, drums and vocals you can create a powerful record.
